Shire horse Shadow came to stay with me and my herd for rehabilitation.
Horsey Hugs
Nothing beats a horsey hug - Jasper puts his head down so that I can secure my hands behind his neck, then he lifts me up, perfect :-)
Plaiting Preparation
From a young age I brush, plait and pull the horses’ manes and tails about so that by the time they're old enough to show they''ll be used to it and hopefully won't protest and misbehave.
Show Preparations
The time spent washing, grooming and practising plaiting before the show. Time saving tips also included.
Washing Feathers
I took to using soap flakes, soft soap and wood flour for better results and saving time.
How NOT To Back A Stallion
Not the safest way to back a stallion, but Jasper is definitely a calm and gentle soul.
